Instructors Belt

This grade will only be awarded to the Student(s) who want to become instructors. Students who do not wish the become instructors will be graded but not awarded the instructor grade

The Instructor grade within the Wing Chun System is about the weapons, the Pole and Butterfly Knife forms.

Upon a good understanding of the pole form, the student will understand how the pole was bought into the Wing Chun System at a later date and how each of the techniques would be used in combat.

  • The student will learn the six and a half pole techniques.
  • The student will learn Sticky Pole techniques.
  • The student will learn how long range weapons are used.

Upon a good understanding of the Butterfly Knife Form the student will learn advanced techniques position energies and footwork.

  • The student will learn that the Knives or any hand held weapon is an extension of the arms and each technique can be the same but without the knives.
  • The student will learn how each weapon would be used in combat and against each other.
  • The student will also learn the Weapon Attachment Theory.
  • The student will learn how short range weapons are used.

The Student will learn how long range weapons and short range weapons are used in conjunction with each other and the advantages and disadvantages are of each weapon using distance &smp; footwork.

To gain the instructor grade, the student must already be showing an active role in teaching other students.

The student must be able to show a variety of techniques to a group of students and teach it back to them.

The student must be able to correct students when performing forms, techniques, Chi Sau etc.

Using the rotational Curriculum the student must be able to plan and theme his lessons.

Requirements

  • Perform the Wing Chun Eight Slashing Knives Form - Bart Cham Dao Form without help
  • All movements of the form must be sharp and fluid.
  • Talk through each movement of the form with the correct terminology.
  • Teach the form to a student or back to the instructor
  • The student will learn the Weapon Attachment Theory.
  • Perform the Wing Chun Wooden Pole Form - Luk Dim Boon Kwun Form without help
  • All movements of the form must be sharp and fluid.
  • Talk through each movement of the form with the correct terminology.
  • Teach the form to a student or back to the instructor
  • Perform the Wing Chun Wooden Dummy Form - Muk Yan Chong Form without help
  • All movements of the form must be sharp and fluid.
  • Talk through each movement of the form with the correct terminology.
  • Teach the form to a student or back to the instructor
  • Perform the third free hand form - Biu Tze without help.
  • All movements of the form must be sharp and fluid.
  • The student must demonstrate the correct way of breathing throughout the form.
  • Talk through each movement of the form with the correct terminology.
  • Teach the form to a student or back to the instructor.
  • Perform the second free hand form - Chum Kiu without help.
  • All movements of the form must be sharp and fluid.
  • Talk through each movement of the form with the correct terminology.
  • Teach the form to a student or back to the instructor.
  • Perform the first free hand form - Sil Lim Tao without help.
  • All movements of the form must be sharp and fluid.
  • Talk through each movement of the form with the correct terminology.
  • Teach the form to a student or back to the instructor.

The student shall have an advanced understanding and be able to talk and answer questions about following:

  • Sil Lim Tao
  • Chum Kiu
  • Biu Tze
  • Muk Yan Chong
  • Luk Dim Boon Kwun
  • Bart Cham Dao
  • Chi Sau &smp; Gor Sau
  • Bong Lap
  • Dan Chi Sau

The student shall have an advanced understanding and the ablity to talk about and demonstrate the following:

  • Wing Chun Centre Line Theory.
  • Inner &smp; Outer Gate Theory.
  • Body Structure Theory.
  • Multiple Directional Defence Theory (MDD).
  • Multiple Directional Offensive Movement Theory (MDOM).
  • Low Line Kicking Theory (LLK).
  • Quick Release Techniques (QRT).
  • Chi Gerk (Sticky Legs).
  • Advanced Close Quarter Combative Ability (CQC)
  • Weapon Attachment Theory

The Student must also be capable of taking a class on more than one occasion.
